Chevy has redesigned its Impala full-size sedan for 2006. Two standard V-6 engines are available on their base model and a 5.3-liter V-8 for the Impala SS model.
Four trim levels are available: LS, LT, LTZ and SS. The interior holds either five or six occupants and the rear seat folds down to create access to the trunk. The SS sedan is new for 2006 and has a distinctive front grill and optional
rear spoiler. Side curtain-type airbags and seat belt pretensioners are standard. All-disc antilock brakes are standard on the LT, LTZ and SS. MSRP $21,330 to $27,130.
