Additional items you should know about auto transporters
1. Make sure transporters provide you with current insurance information including insurance company name and liability limits.
2. Ask for the auto transporters MC or ICC number. This shows that they are authorized by the Interstate Commerce Commission to transport your car.
3. Make sure to verify that the transporter is the actual shipper and not a broker. If they are a broker make sure to get the contact information of the actual shipper. You will always want to be able to get in contact with the transporter as needed. Please note that brokers generally add $100 to $150 on top of the quoted rate. Our calculator only estimates the actual transporter rate.
4. Do not allow your car to sit in a holding facility or storage yard for any length of time. Try to find transporters who can deliver your car within 7 to 10 days of pick up.
