CalCruising Takes Aim At Ebay Motors

SAN DIEGO, CA -- (INTERNET WIRE) -- 09/05/2002 -- CalCruising (www.calcruising.com) This week CalCruising announced a national advertising campaign to promote their free auto auctions.

President and founder Michael Schriner explains, "our goal is to convert 20% of Ebay Motor’s listings to our auction site over the next 12 months. We are more than confident that we can produce the same results or better without having to charge our members. With over 350,000 people in our database we are certain that our popularity will continue to grow at a fast pace.

CalCruising has just completed a 6-month test market to back up these estimates. Schriner says, "our members have run 350 plus auctions with over 1,900 bids placed. Approximately 21% of the vehicles have sold, most after the completion of the auction. In addition, we allow member vehicles to stay in the closed auction section indefinitely. This helps to continue to promote their vehicles after the close of the auction."

CalCruising has contacted classic car dealers all over the country like Select Motors, Automainiacs, and dozens more. They have hired an auction specialist who can work with these dealers to promote their vehicles for the best possible results.

Over the next 12 months CalCruising projects membership to reach 11,000, bidding levels to reach $250,000,000, and member auctions to increase to between 200 and 250 listings on any given day. To support this increase, CalCruising plans on substantial increases in advertising revenue from national advertisers.

CalCruising has designed their site so that members can navigate easily between CalCruising Auctions and Member Auctions. Schriner goes on to say " on Ebay Motors it is much more difficult to determine which auction is an Ebay auction and which is a consumer auction. Many of the car listings are directly from Kruse International which is an Ebay subsidiary. This has caused much frustration among Ebay bidders. Many of these people have switched over to our site as a result.

With the recent collapse of Hemmings Online Auctions and the continued price increases at Ebay Motors, isn’t nice to know there is a better alternative on the Internet to help you sell your classic car. Stop by www.calcruising.com today and check these guys out.
